I own a Micromax Canvas 5 phone which I bought over an year ago. Recently my phone got dead and I was not able to start it even though while charging a red light was showing.
I submitted the phone for check up who told me that there is a problem in the FPC. Firstly I could not understand what it was so I went back. He told me that it would just take half an hour to solve it but still I said I should go back and check. Please note the phone has not been opened anywhere except the micromax authorized service center.
I came again on Oct 26, 2017 and I submitted the phone for that problem to be solved. The concerned person there gave me a job sheet saying they do not have the parts.
Since then I called about 50 times, I went to the office for 4-5 times physically everytime hearing that the issue has not been solved fully. After sometime they said that the FPC issue has been solved but still the phone is not working. Then they said there is problem in the mother board.
Everytime they used to say come tomorrow or it would be solved by a particular date, it did not.
Finally, on Nov 25, 2018 they gave a call that the phone has been finally solved ad you may come to collect it after a whole month.
They charged 1, 650 totally. I saw that the phone’s data has been erased, there was software update however no such intimation was given to me that they will erase the data.
Then I checked the bill. I was billed for a software update, mechanical repair and ‘electro-mechanical’ and soldering.
Now I suspect some foul play here. How could such a small thing like update and soldering take one month?
Why did they say that there are issues in the motherboard and they changed it but they did not charge for it?
I suspect that the phone was ready in a few days only and all this while they were using it for their own benefit.
Resolution Expected: I want full refund of my billed amount, compensation for this delay of one month when I could not do my daily activities and an action against the service center owner.
